DESCRIPTION:Creative Compositing with Maria MunarWelcome to the world of VF
 X and compositing! In this workshop you’ll explore how to combine video 
 footage\, incorporate animation\, and alter videos in unexpected ways. Usi
 ng Adobe After Effects\, you’ll learn how to bring different pieces of f
 ootage together into one scene\, creating your own surrealist landscapes a
 nd imaginative visual worlds made up of different videos. We’ll go over 
 the basics of compositing and explore techniques such as masking\, rotosco
 ping\, motion tracking\, layering\, and integrating footage. You’ll expe
 riment with these tools and learn a few different ways to combine videos a
 nd create unexpected compositions of your own. Basic knowledge of Adobe Af
 ter Effects is required. You’ll also need a reasonably powerful computer
  that can handle video editing and compositing\, with an Adobe license ins
 talled. About your instructorMaria Munar is a Canadian-Colombian visual an
 d media artist based in Calgary. She graduated from the Media Arts program
  at Alberta University of the Arts in 2017 and has been working profession
 ally in the creative industry ever since. For the past eight years\, she h
 as worked at Critical Mass as a Motion and Post-Production Director\, work
 ing with some of the world's biggest brands such as Apple\, Mercedes Benz\
 , Lipton\, BMW\, and many more. Her experience spans video editing\, colou
 r grading\, motion graphics\, VFX\, and compositing\, with a focus on Adob
 e After Effects and DaVinci Resolve. Alongside her work in the creative in
 dustry\, Maria’s visual art practice combines photography\, collage\, an
 d sculpture. She is represented by Gibson Fine Art\, she has exhibited wit
 h organizations including Quickdraw Animation Society\, Werklund Centre\, 
 and SpanicArts\, with works held in private and public collections.
