DESCRIPTION:OUTSIDERNESS 12:00 PM - 1:25 PM | Saturday\, November 7\, 2026
(Time includes a 30 minute community discussion after the film) Upper Barr
 acks | The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland | 750 9 Avenue SE\, Calgary
\, Alberta FILM SYNOPSIS: The film is a deeply personal exploration by fil
 mmaker Carlo Alcos\, a second-generation Filipino-Canadian whose parents i
mmigrated to British Columbia in the early 1970s. Growing up as a brown ki
d in a predominantly white suburb\, Carlo learned to assimilate to fit in.
Through his journey\, he begins to question what he lost in the process\,
and what belonging truly means. Blending family archives\, present-day re
flections\, and candid conversations\, Outsiderness unpacks the invisible
cost of adaptation and the universal search for identity in multicultural
Canada. CULTURE IN ACTION: This year marks the inaugural year of CJFF's Cu
