SUMMARY:Songwriting Workshop: Finding the heart of a song with Kate Stevens
LOCATION:Dalhousie Community Association\, Calgary
DESCRIPTION:Join Kate Stevens\, 7 x YYC Music Award Winner (Including Folk
and Pop recordings of the year) to explore everything from chord progressi
ons and song structure to vocals\, melody\, and finding the right words to
capture a feeling. Explore ways to put that yearning\, curiosity\, heartb
reak\, and joy down onto paper and then out into the world. “I’ve writ
ten songs alone\, and I’ve been in rooms packed with other songwriters\,
and one thing I’ve learned is - the more specific and honest you get\,
the more people tend to connect with it”. Sometimes the songs that feel
the most personal end up being the most universal. This workshop is part of
7 workshops series (can attend all or select) with the Rocky Mountain Lis
tening Room for the headlining artists who are performing the following ev
ening. Visit the website for more information: https://www.rockylisteningr
