Welcome to 2026 Tech Talent Tuesdays: Calgary Workforce Advantage Edition This is a free, bi-weekly gathering for professionals and companies in Calgary’s tech and innovation ecosystem. This series supports Calgary’s tech workforce advantage by connecting employer priorities with community learning, creating a cycle where events generate insights that inform future programming. As part of this programming, there are bi-weekly events to showcase learnings in tech, roundtables among tech companies to identify key learning areas, and a report to share key findings. This event is a collaboration among Calgary Economic Development, Careers in Technology and Innovation, Platform Calgary and the Government of Alberta's Labour Market Development Agreement (The Province of Alberta is working in partnership with the Government of Canada to provide employment support programs and services). As well as a collection of companies from Calgary’s Tech & Innovation Ecosystem. October 27: Calgary Workforce Advantage: What Employers Are Learning About AI Organizations across Calgary are moving quickly from experimenting with AI to figuring out what it actually means for their businesses, their teams, and their workforce. In September, Tech Talent Tuesdays brought together senior leaders from organizations ranging from growth-stage technology companies to large global employers for the fourth Calgary Workforce Advantage Quarterly Roundtable. The discussion focused on a simple question: Where is AI actually paying off, what does it cost, and what is slowing adoption down? At the next Tech Talent Tuesdays, we are bringing several of those leaders back together to share what emerged from that conversation and explore what it means for Calgary employers and professionals. Rather than presentations or case studies, this will be a candid panel discussion about what organizations are seeing inside their businesses as AI moves from experimentation into day-to-day operations. What we’ll explore: 🔹 Where organizations are seeing real productivity and capacity gains from AI🔹 Why measuring AI return on investment is still difficult🔹 How organizations are approaching AI budgets, token costs, and tool selection🔹 Why some employees become highly effective AI users while others struggle to adopt🔹 How companies are thinking about governance, risk, and responsible experimentation🔹 How AI is changing roles, workflows, and expectations for employees🔹 Why human judgment and the ability to evaluate AI output are becoming more valuable🔹 What leaders are learning about bringing their teams through the transition Meet the Panelists Hilary Lungu | Abbadata Hilary is a People and Culture leader focused on scaling technology companies and building high-performing, mission-driven teams. She brings a practical, business-driven perspective to hiring, talent strategy, and the evolving role of AI in the workplace, with a focus on fair and inclusive practices. Her work centres on creating the conditions for people and performance to scale together while supporting meaningful work. Dennis Hale | Vice President, Sales, Aimsio Dennis is Vice President of Sales at Aimsio, where he works closely with industrial organizations adopting technology to improve operational performance. With extensive experience leading commercial teams through transformation, Dennis brings practical insight into how AI is changing customer expectations, business processes, and the future of work. Both panelists participated in September's Calgary Workforce Advantage Quarterly Roundtable and will share perspectives from inside their organizations, including where AI is already delivering value, where implementation remains difficult, and how they are approaching the workforce and organizational changes that come with broader adoption. The conversation will also examine some of the tensions raised during the roundtable: whether organizations should standardize AI tools or give employees more choice, how much structure employees need to develop AI skills, and how leaders can distinguish meaningful business impact from increased activity. Whether you are an executive making investment decisions, a manager responsible for implementation, or a professional adapting to changing expectations, this session will provide a window into how Calgary organizations are navigating AI in practice. 📍 Location: Platform Calgary🕓 Time: Tuesday, October 27, 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. Register today:https://www.showpass.com/tech-talent-tuesdays-2026-series/ Tech Talent Tuesdays is presented in partnership with Platform Calgary, Calgary Economic Development, and Careers in Technology and Innovation (CITI).
